Delhi Public School is a school for both boys and girls and enrolls students from all caste and cadres. The School exists to provide quality education for young children from varying socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Parents/caregivers seeking to enroll a student at Delhi Public School Rohtak must take an admission test and the admission in Delhi Public School Rohtak is primarily based on this test.
Parents/caregivers seeking to enroll a student at Delhi Public School Rohtak must give a commitment to supporting the mission and values of the School and have demonstrated a commitment to their own faith tradition as evidenced by their involvement in their own culture and have respect for all cultures.
Each application which gives evidence of meeting the primary criteria for enrolment will be considered by the Principal on its merits having regard to the priority order and factors detailed below. The final decision of an offer of enrolment rests with the Principal.
In the determination of enrolments, particularly where applications exceed places within a priority category, the following factors will be considered:
• The student’s past behavior and commitment at school.
• The School’s ability to cater for the specific talents and needs of each person.
• Special consideration will be given to the enrolment of students who are materially, socially, spiritually or emotionally disadvantaged.
Date of receipt of applications may be used if all other priorities and factors prove equal.
Where applications are received for students with special educational needs, the application will, in the first instance, be considered according to the enrolment process outlined above. In addition, an enrolment support process examining the physical, human, curriculum and financial resources of the School and the needs of the student, will be undertaken. Non-disclosure of known special needs may have significant implications for the ongoing support of a student seeking enrolment and may result in the cancellation of the enrolment process.
English
In order to explore this language theory and practice students engage with a range of text and learning experiences. Students examine and construct written, spoken, narratives, news reports, biographies, paragraphs and essays. This improves the ability to use the language effectively, purposefully, critically, as well as to write, speak and think correctively. In the language lab the students work independently and in groups with the help of their spoken presentations and with audio visual supporting materials. The assessment in English Communication is predominantly spoken. The course provides opportunities to demonstrate control of language in a variety of media and contexts.
Health & P.E.
The health and P.E Department is responsible for the health development of the students through the delivery of both physical education and home economics program. The course comprises the range of practical activities and personal development topics. As educators, it is important that we equip all students with the knowledge, skills and attitude to make decision about importance of health in developing lifelong patron for physical activities. The dimensions of health are dynamic interrelated and interdependent with physical activities. Physical Education at DPS Rohtak allow the students to become physically educated, they become aware of fitness training and physical activity. Learning Support
This is a department of many components which is focused on delivering the curriculum model that supports and enhances the learning of all students. This model is in accordance with their needs and interest. The students develop their strategies to overcome weak areas. There are various enrichment activities for capable learners. We also assist students with study management, assignment writing and exam preparations. The main of the life sills program is to assist a student’s transition from their primary years to secondary education. Goal Setting, handling pressure, communication skills and relationship skills are explored. Students are also introduced to career education through some general focus activities about job and work possibilities. The job seeking skills are formally developed which include letter writing, conversation techniques, resume writing, compiling report folio are all explored in depth.
Library
Library facility is designed to be stimulating and a welcome place. The Library resources cater mainly for students up to class 12 level. The Library lands resources such as books, DVDs, magazines, newspapers and has an access to online curriculum provided through an internet websites. Online resources include extensive online databases and video collection. The library staff assists the school community in their references, reading, and project work and in resourcing the curriculum. The reading helps to improve the reading skills and to integrate information and technological skills making lifelong learning a mission of the school.
The school has a fully equipped junior and senior library with a reference section and a reading room area and stocked with more than 10,000 books in various categories and a number of periodicals. The books have been classified according the Dewey decimal classification. The unique feature of the library is the \'Open Access System\' which enables students to access any book freely. The library is also equipped with a number of educational video cassettes on curriculum based topics.
Mathematics
Mathematic is a subject that focuses in developing knowledge of life skills, to organize and process information, the ability to solve problems familiar and unfamiliar in nature. Our course aims to reinforce the skills and to provide the students knowledge and background of mathematics to the level required by them. There are different methods of instruction and assessment in order to allow learning. Delhi Public School Rohtak is equipped with a Mathematics Lab established by a team of professionals to provide mathematical skills and practical application of the subject in everyday life. The Mathematics lab helps in improving confidence and to ensure scientific literacy as it is equipped with latest teaching aids which are dynamic in nature and help in problem solving.
Amazing learning happens when a student himself does what the theorems he learnt in the Maths class. A well equipped Mathematics Lab provides students with the opportunity to have fun with numbers and creates a challenging atmosphere for students to put their mathematical abilities to test and enhances their analytical reasoning and lateral thinking through various games and activities. Games are organized,models made, quizzes conducted, projects exhibited, all learning process done through practical means. Setting up a "Virtual Bank", opening up "Bulls and Bears" relating to life experiences enriches learning experience.They not only study the various concepts, they go back to the life of the mathematician, learn about his background, his life, learning strategies, and the limited opportunities he had to work with. It inspires the young mind by emulating their example. That is why DPS introduced a Maths lab even before CBSE made it mandatory.
Science
Science is a part of human quest for understanding and reflects human wonder about the world. The study is science as a way of knowing and doing can help student reach deeper understanding of the world and the practical nature of his surroundings. Students investigate phenomenon using scientific methods and practice creative thinking, problem solving and decision making. In the primary classes’ social science are studied under the title of environmental studies. This gives information about the social structure, the family and the plant and animals surrounding them. As we step in higher classes this science are studies under many branches of sciences like Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The school is well equipped with all these laboratories so that indepth knowledge must be provided to the students.
Highly sophisticated and fully equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs provide an open environment for students to experiment and do research work. The three divisions of the science department ensure?that students do real experiments. Our science labs are not just a rich storehouse of costly equipment and the latest gadgets on display. They are workshops of practical experiment going far beyond the limits of prescribed syllabus. The teachers at the physics, chemistry and biology labs challenge them with exciting projects giving them a strenuous time clashing with known principles and existing data. Social Sciences
This department is diverse in nature; it includes the study of history, geography, civics and economics. Within the context of these disciplines the students focus on the essential learning and ways of working involving investigation, evidences, thinking critically and employ problem solving techniques to seek solutions. The courses included help in drawing appropriate measures to understand people, society and nature and how these have been modified by the impact of human activities. Our school has a grand outdoor working area for project work in exploring geography, understanding communities around us, connecting people and places and natural hazards helping to sustain bio diversity.
Technology
This department is the support department of the school. Our charter is to provide information technology at all levels in the school. The school has three computer rooms equipped with 30 computers in each room with all latest software and latest configuration. A large number of computers are used in administrative areas; students have an access to the laboratories from pre nursery to the apex class. Our view of technology is simply that it is an integral part of life and education so we have chosen to provide access across the school. It takes quite a team to serves and maintains the networks since all subject area utilizes technology resources and continues to demand more and higher quality.
Our four state-of-the-art computer labs are an indication of our adaptability to the ever changing IT world. Our labs meet the challenging needs of the students incorporating the latest developments in the field of science and technology. They provide every student the opportunity to use the computes on one to one ratio, thus making them techno-smart. The computer labs are equipped with more than 60 PCs with networking and LCD projectors for CAT classes. Our senior students participate in soft ware development program for all kinds of marketing and commercial purposes. They are also involved in developing engineering concepts and data base concepts with C++, oracle and visual basics.
Medical Care
The school clinic is looked after a qualified doctor. First Aid is provided to students in case of accidents and parents are intimated for further treatment. Medical checkup of students are regularly carried out and a record is maintained. Parents are informed if the doctor is of the option that a child needs special medical attention.
Bookshop & Uniform
Note books and text books of all classes and articles of stationery can be purchased from the school book shop which remains open from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Summer and winter uniforms including belts, socks, tie and blazers for boys and girls of all classes are available in the uniform outlet.
School Transport
DPS Rohtak has a fleet of buses plying in the city. This network also covers nearby areas and where the lanes are narrow and in the interior of the city, small buses and cruisers take the students. A regular bus time is given in the school almanac along with bus number and bus routes for the convenience of the parents. These rules are strictly followed and a transport in-charge answers all transport queries.
